Research of Music Video 2- John Newman 'Love Me Again'

The song begins with one of main characters of the music video going up the stairs, into the bar that the music video is set in. The one finger that is placed on the banister shows that there are young as they are quickly running up the stairs.

This shot shows a 3 shot of 3 young males (20-25) as they walk into the bar, the man that was shown on the stairs is again seen as the main character out of the 3. The background also shows that the video is set within a older styled bar, as the walls a vinyl.

This scene shows the other 'main character' of the video as she enters the video using the same stairs, and is shown using the same/ similar camera angles. The camera slightly tracks her up the stairs as she enters the bar.

This scene is showing a woman slightly left of centre frame professionally dancing, the woman in this scene represents the woman that was shown running up the stairs. As she dances the scenes cuts to the next shot which shows the woman as quite important as she is accompanied by 2 men that seem to be bodyguards, but even so this breaks the stereotype of men being more superior as she is in-front of the 2 men in a formation.

The shot here shows the female character at the bar waiting for the male to join her, she is shown to be central of the shot this shows that is alone and waiting, I feel this way cause the shot doesn't allow anyone else in the shot as it stands. To allow a entry of another person will only be possible is the camera tracks back or pans out to the side more.

-I liked within this video the Medium and close-ups between the different groups as they are presented to be symmetrical and have the main 'character' centre of the shot and the other two shown either side.
- I also like the use of a bar as it makes a very social setting for the video and a very upbeat and fun setting.
